Sol Miraglia: Asymmetry

At 4 years old, I had a deviation of my right eye that had no medical explanation until today. This is how in 1995 I began looking in two different directions at the same time.

Asymmetry is a project I do since 2010, portraying people who have some kind of asymmetry in their eyes.

How are they built in our inner experience, eyes we stare at a time and not? How to understand and prepare in within, the shadows, highlights and all the implicit geography each picture as a landscape, an archetype?

The encounter with these faces work as a mirror in which they look at me, I interrogate and seeking meaning in my own asymmetry.

These Portraits invite us to be examined through the sense of form, suddenly find trapped in the spell of a privacy, the front look speaks. For a moment to look at each other, engage, lose and get carried away.
